Description

Brendan was born in rural Zimbabwe where he grew up in the African Bush. This has had an influence on Brendan’s work as he wishes to recreate the feeling of nature in his work. You may notice that much of Brendan’s work is inspired by the natural world.

Brendan did his apprenticeship in a silver craft workshop 1990-1995, and then went to the University for the Creative Arts in Kent to further his skills in traditional silversmithing. From 1995 to 2000 Brendan honed his skills at a goldsmiths bench, and in 2000 Brendan moved to London to work as a subcontractor for BJS Silversmiths, and whilst there as the resident silversmith, worked on big projects for Anish Kapoor and Damien Hurst to name a few.

Brendan has done restoration work on the Rugby World Cup, candelabras for Balmoral, silverware for Buckingham Palace, and worked with TV studios restoring items for period dramas.

Brendan has moved to Oradour sur Vayres in order to have quality time with his young family, and to spend more time working on projects which are close to his heart, as well as teaching others this dying skill and soak up inspiration from the lovely rural setting of the Limousin.
